Clay Center ? An overnight police chase spanned two Kansas counties and lasted for an hour and 20 minutes.

Clay County Sheriff Chuck Dunn says the chase started Monday night after a deputy attempted to stop a man for speeding.

The man is accused of leading the deputy into Riley County, where officers from that county joined the pursuit.

KCLY radio reported that items flew from the back of the fleeing pickup truck.

The chase ended at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday in a field southeast of the town of Riley.

Dunn says no one was injured. The suspect was taken into custody and released on $3,000 bond.
