Lawrence Humane Society closed Sunday
The Lawrence Humane Society, 1805 E. 19th St., will be closed Sunday, Nov. 20, for staff training. It will reopen to receive stray animals at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. The adoption center will reopen 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Lawrence residents with an animal emergency can call animal control at 832-7509. Douglas County residents can call the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 843-0250.
