A 31-year-old Spring Hill woman was taken to Olathe Medical Center Thursday morning after her vehicle struck a deer on Kansas Highway 10 east of De Soto, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Jolene A. Kingston suffered a possible injury in the crash that occurred about 7:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of K-10 just east of Cedar Creek Parkway, according to the accident report.

A deer ran across the highway from south to north and collided with the 2010 Chevrolet car Kingston was driving. Kingston and her passenger, 37-year-old Kevin Kingston of Spring Hill who was not injured, both wore seat belts.

A hospital spokesman said Thursday morning Kingston was treated and released.
