The Kansas City Sluggers, a summer league baseball team made up primarily of Lawrence High and Free State players, edged the FCA Torchbearers, 4-3, on Thursday in the Decatur Commodores Woodbat Invitational.

Cameron Solko earned the victory on the mound, pitching four innings of relief, and giving up a hit, an earned run and a walk.

Montana Samuels drove in the game-winning run in the seventh inning.

The Sluggers improved to 7-5. They will face the Decatur Commodores today in the invitational.
