Douglas County Commission to discuss noise regulations, sale of county property

Douglas County commissioners will discuss the effectiveness of the area’s excessive noise regulations at their 4 p.m. meeting Wednesday.

The discussion, spurred by complaints from some rural residents, could include possible solutions, such as changing the hours the regulations are in effect. The current ordinance is enforced by the sheriff’s office after 10 p.m. quiet hours begin.

Commissioners will also hear public comment during the 6:35 p.m. meeting regarding the sale of county-owned property by Lone Star Lake. The property is currently used to store equipment for public works. The discussion would be in regard to the contracting and sale of the real estate.

The County Commission meetings will be at the Douglas County Courthouse, 111 E. 11th St.
