Topeka ? A man flying a single-person ultralight aircraft was injured when it crashed near a private airport north of Topeka.

Fire officials say the accident happened Tuesday night near the Buena Terra airport. The man was taken to a hospital but his conditions were not considered life-threatening.

Kansas Highway Patrol Lt. Harold Tillman says witnesses reported hearing a loud pop shortly before the crash. He says an investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
