Douglas County officials will be conducting a rescheduled infrared mission today to survey the roofs of the following buildings:

• Judicial & Law Enforcement Center, 111 E. 11th St.

• Douglas County Jail, 3601 E. 25th St.

• Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St., Building 21

• Douglas County Youth Services, 330 Industrial Lane

In order to capture the imagery needed, the county’s contractor, Infrared Concept Corporation, will fly a helicopter over these buildings both during the day and at night. Daytime hours will be 11:15 a.m. to 3 p.m., and nighttime hours are 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The helicopter captures images of buildings, which all have flat roofs, to help county officials gauge the conditions of them from year-to-year for minor repairs. The flights were originally scheduled for July 1 but were postponed because of windy conditions.
