• AuBurn Pharmacy hosted a grand opening June 4 to celebrate its newest location in Eudora, 310 E. 15th St. Mike Burns, a Eudora native and AuBurn President/CEO, returned to his hometown to open the pharmacy; it had officially opened for business May 16. This is the 15th retail location for the community pharmacy group that also includes AuBurn LTC, a closed door pharmacy.

• The Kansas Society of Professional Engineers 2011 Annual Conference was June 22-24 at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita, where the association’s annual awards were given. During the event, Howard Lubliner, P.E., of Lawrence, received the Government Engineer Award. He is employed by the Kansas Department of Transportation as road design leader.

• Lorinda Hartzler, Natalie Baumchen and Tracey English, all of Body Boutique, 2330 Yale Road, received their Kettlebell Level I Certification at the National Fitness Business Alliance on June 11 in Denver. The program, a 12-hour certification course, is designed to ensure trainers and fitness instructors learn, observe, practice and implement safe and effective kettlebell training techniques.

• Body Boutique also announces its newest certified personal trainer, Elisa Brooks. Brooks earned her certification through the American Council on Exercise and is also Les Mills BodyStep & BodyPump certified.
