2-day free dental clinic in Hutchinson sees 1,638 patients

? A two-day free dental clinic held last weekend in Hutchinson set a record for the cost of dental services that were donated.

Dentists at the Kansas Mission of Mercy clinic last Friday and Saturday treated 1,638 patients, extracted 4,389 teeth and performed $1.2 million in free services for uninsured Kansans.

Greg Hill, executive director of the Kansas Dental Charitable Foundation, says the services donated by 135 dentists at the clinic set a record.

The Hutchinson News reported Monday that Kansas Mission of Mercy has seen 17,500 patients and dispensed $8.5 million in services in clinics across the state in the past nine years.
