HALSTEAD ? A central Kansas man has died in a fire that engulfed his home.

Officials identified the victim as Robert H. Siemens.

The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office said the fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. Friday at his farmhouse about 2 miles west of Halstead.

His wife said she left the house after noticing that the living room was on fire. She said she crossed paths with her husband as she left and told him about the fire. But she said he went into the home anyway and never came out.
