Meeting to discuss annexation of Miller Acres and Well Acres neighborhoods scheduled for Wednesday
A meeting to discuss the possible annexation of the Miller Acres and Well Acres neighborhoods has been set for Wednesday evening.
Lawrence City Hall officials will be on hand to answer questions and get feedback from residents of the two subdivisions, located just north of the Michigan Street and Riverridge Road area.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Heritage Room of the Carnegie Building at Ninth and Vermont streets.
City staff members have said they want to present a plan to commissioners to annex the area because it is virtually surrounded by the city limits. City commissioners authorized staff members to have a meeting with neighbors, but have not taken steps to start the annexation process.
