Area high school basketball roundup: Tongie, De Soto boys win

Tonganoxie — With a little help from its role players, the Tonganoxie High boys basketball team handed Lansing its first Kaw Valley League loss of the season on Tuesday, 57-55.


De Soto 47, Eudora 30

Eudora — Jordan Ballock scored 14 points and Andrew Ballock 10 in Eudora’s loss.

Perry-Lecompton 61, Royal Valley 59

Perry — Jeremy Immenschuh scored 16 points to lead the Kaws to their second victory of the season.

Atchison County 60, McLouth 37

Effingham — McLouth couldn’t stop undefeated Atchison County (17-0).

Oskaloosa 55, K.C. Christian 54, OT

Oskaloosa — Oskaloosa led 30-24 at halftime, but Kansas City Christian pulled within one after the third quarter.

Baldwin 37, Louisburg 35

Louisburg — Baldwin nearly let a 13-point fourth quarter lead slip away in the final minutes.

DeSoto — Eudora’s Allie Webb scored 13 points, while Valerie Pringle and Victoria Lehmann scored nine apiece.

Wellsville — Krista Hinman led Wellsville with seven points.

Atchison County 66, McLouth 23

McLouth — McLouth’s 10 points in the fourth were the most it scored in a quarter.

Oskaloosa 37, Kansas City Christian 31

Oskaloosa — Kansas City Christian cut the lead to just two points after the third quarter.

Tonganoxie 59, Lansing 51

Tonganoxie — With its starting frontcourt out to prove a point, Tonganoxie attacked the paint.

Baldwin 46, Louisburg 36

Louisburg — A rare four-point play by Baldwin sophomore Kailyn Smith was the highlight of the game.
