Wichita ? A 58-year-old Kansas man is dead after being pinned in the seat of his tractor by a tree he was trying to move.

Sedgwick County officials say the man was pushing the tree, which already had been cut down, with his tractor when the tree rolled and a branch pinned him to the seat.

His wife witnessed the accident, which occurred at 4:45 p.m. Saturday in southeast Sedgwick County, and tried to help, but was unsuccessful.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
