Scouting news for August 20, 2011

All girls and parents interested in learning about Girl Scouts in Lawrence are invited to an All-School Recruitment night on Tuesday. The session will be from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Lawrence High School cafeteria. The event will answer questions parents and girls may have about the program, provide activities for new girls to introduce them to Girl Scouts, as well as provide assistance registering youth and adults. Leaders from schools in Lawrence will also be able to answer questions about troops on a school level.

School Night for Scouting Dates have been set for Lawrence. School Night for Scouting is a chance for young people and their families to join Scouting. Elementary schools throughout Lawrence will be open over the next several weeks. Scout leaders will be available to talk about Scouting and to register new Scouts. Programs are available for all ages: Cub Scouting (grades 1-5), Boy Scouting (ages 11-18) and Venturing (co-ed, ages 13-21). Dates and locations are listed below and also at www.hoac-bsa.org. Both youth and parents must attend the School Night meetings.
