LHS?baseball rallies

? Lawrence High’s baseball team rallied for three runs in the sixth inning to take a 7-6 comeback victory over Shawnee Mission East on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing 6-4 in the top of the sixth, LHS put together a walk and a single before Troy Willoughby knocked a two-run double off the wall.

Corbin Francisco followed with an RBI single to put the Lions ahead.

LHS won despite committing four errors.

“It was an ugly, ugly baseball game,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said. “We just did some uncharacteristic things compared to how we’ve been playing lately. It was nice to find a way to win when we were not playing our best baseball.”

Alex Laughlin picked up the win, striking out seven in six innings. Cameron Solko recorded the final three outs for the save.

LHS (7-5) will play at Olathe East at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
