Air Force Capt. Dayvid M. Prahl, the son of Mike and Sharole Prahl of Baldwin City, has been awarded a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio.

Prahl is developmental engineer with five years of military service. He is a 1999 graduate of Baldwin High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Kansas University in 2005.

Lawrence native Lt. (JG) Nicholas A. Green received his wings of gold during an April 8 ceremony as a member of Training Air Wing Two at NAS Kingsville in Kingsville, Texas, to become a U.S. Navy Aviator.

Green is the son of Tracy Green, Lawrence, and the late Jan Green. His wings were pinned on by his grandmother, Mary Green, Lawrence, and grandfather, Bob Broyles, Baldwin City. He has received orders to report to NAS Oceana in Norfolk, Va., to continue his training in the F/A-18 Super Hornet.

Air National Guard Airman Trevor J. Courter, Air Force Airmen Logan M. Ross and Michael K. Lindeman, and Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Kodi A. Masarik, have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Courter and Ross earned distinctions as honor graduates.

Courter is a 1996 graduate of Jefferson County North High School.

Ross is a 2010 graduate of Basehor-Linwood High School and the son of Matt and Maureen Ross, Linwood.

Lindeman is a 2010 graduate of Lawrence High School and the son of Michael Lindeman, Lawrence.

Masarik is also a 2010 graduate of LHS and the son of Joseph and stepson of Crystalee Masarik, Lawrence.
