Candidates plan stops at Farmers’ Market
The Voter Education Coalition is giving local voters an opportunity to meet with candidates at the Lawrence Farmers’ Market on Saturdays in September and October.
County and statewide candidates have been invited to meet with voters at the community booth in the southeast corner of the market today and Oct. 2, 9 and 16. Members of the League of Women Voters of Douglas County also will be on hand to register voters.
The coalition is a nonpartisan organization that includes 19 community organizations designed to promote civil dialogue and broad participation of citizens and candidates through community forums.
