Topeka ? Two lower court judges and a member of the Kansas Supreme Court’s legal staff are finalists for a seat on the state Court of Appeals.

A statewide nominating commission announced the names Friday. Gov. Mark Parkinson is expected to make the appointment before he leaves office Jan. 10.

The finalists include Presiding Overland Park Municipal Judge Karen Arnold-Berger, Finney County District Judge Robert Frederick and Supreme Court staff attorney Deborah L Hughes, Topeka.
