Salina police seize 105 pounds of cocaine at airport

? Salina police say they seized 105 pounds of cocaine from a private airplane at the Salina Municipal Airport.

Salina police Sgt. Jim Norton said Monday that the cocaine was found Sept. 27 after the plane landed to refuel.

Norton, who is commander of the I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force, says the cocaine has a street value of $2 million. It was turned over to the federal Drug Enforcement Agency.

The Salina Journal reports that no one was arrested. Norton says one of two passengers on the plane was arrested last week in California in an investigation there of a cocaine distribution ring.

The cocaine seizure came about two weeks before officers found $5.5 million in cash in a Cessna Citation jet at the airport.
