Topeka ? U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., will officially file to run for governor on Tuesday and introduce his pick for lieutenant governor, it was announced Wednesday.

“Our running mate will be a vital part of our team,” Brownback said in an announcement, although he didn’t say who it will be. “This individual will help us with the task of putting Kansans back to work and growing our state’s economy,” Brownback said.

Brownback will go on a two-day campaign swing starting in Overland Park, then Topeka, Pittsburg and Wichita on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Brownback will hit Hutchinson, Garden City, Hays and Salina.
