Pulitzer-winning poet at KU this week

Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Mary Oliver is scheduled to visit Kansas University this week.

The poet, known for her work with the natural world, will do a reading and take questions from the audience at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lied Center.

Her visit is part of the Hall Center for the Humanities’ 2009-10 Humanities Lecture Series.

A second opportunity to visit with the poet will come during “A Conversation with Mary Oliver,” at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hall Center Conference Hall.

Both events are free and open to the public.

Oliver is the author of 18 collections of poetry, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning “American Primitive,” and “New and Selected Poems, Volume One.”
