District court to cut hours in response to state’s revenue shortfall

Hours at the Douglas County District Court Clerk’s office soon will be cut, and the office will be closed several days this spring as a result of state budget woes.

On Wednesday, the clerk’s office announced that beginning April 12 the office will open at 9 a.m., which is one hour later than normal. It also will close one hour earlier at 4 p.m. The office will continue to be closed during the lunch hour.

In addition, the office will be closed entirely on April 9, April 16, April 23 and May 7 as part of a furlough program being implemented by the state’s judicial branch to deal with budget shortfalls.

The new hours will be in place indefinitely.
