Incoming Kansas University students from Douglas and Jefferson counties and their parents will be welcomed at a KU picnic on campus later this month.

The KU Alumni Association and its Lawrence chapter will greet incoming students at the Jayhawk Generations Welcome Picnic at 6:30 p.m. July 14 at the Adams Alumni Center, 1266 Oread Ave.

Area alumni, new students, students interested in learning more about KU and parents are invited to attend and enjoy complementary food and beverages. Each new Jayhawk will receive a T-shirt.

The association has invited transfer students and incoming freshman whose enrollment deposits were received by May 1.

Current KU student, alumni and university representatives will answer questions and offer advice.
