Jeff North slaps Seabury, 72-54

January 23, 2010

— Bill Gibbs scored 23 points, but the Seabury Academy boys basketball team fell to Jefferson County North, 72-54, Friday at the McLouth tournament.

The Seahawks (5-2) will play in the third-place game at 5:30 p.m. today.

“I think he’s finally finding his shooting touch,” Seabury coach Mike Harding said of Gibbs. “He’s relaxing, rising up and shooting the three well. If we can get everybody on that same cylinder in one game, I think we’ll be all right.”

Skyler Malone had 13 points for the Seahawks, while Brandon McCaffey added nine.

“We started off hot and then cooled off,” Harding said. “We struggled to get the ball inside.”

Jeff North 72, Seabury Academy 54

Seabury 11 12 18 13 — 54

Jeff North 15 16 22 19 — 72

Seabury scoring: Bill Gibbs 23, Reed Grabill 3, Skyler Malone 13, Nathan Wilhelm 6, Brandon McCaffey 9.

LJW, what about the JCN scoring breakdown ?????

dudedog12 - It's because the LJW is too stupid to know that people in Jefferson county work in Lawrence, they attend KU in Lawrence, they shop in Lawrence, they move from Jeff. County to live in Lawrence. We apparently don't read the paper. I moved to Indiana many years ago and I still read the LJW daily via the internet. I still don't know why JCN doesn't get any coverage. In LJW's world no one exists beyond Perry-Lecompton, Oskaloosa and McClouth.
