Edwin Rothrock has joined The World Company, Lawrence, as director of digital advertising.

Rothrock is responsible for maximizing and helping guide the growth of the company’s online assets, with a focus on KUSports.com, LJWorld.com, Lawrence.com and the company’s Marketplace and niche news sites.

Rothrock previously worked for 16 years at CMP Media, first in sales and marketing and then as publishing director. He managed the company’s UNIX and Linux publishing group, which handled print, online and conference materials.

Rothrock, who received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Kansas University, also is a co-owner of Blue Dandelion Children’s Boutique, 841 Mass.
