Two arrested at Junction City club

? Junction City police have arrested two people at a club where authorities suspect liquor was being sold illegally.

Police Chief Tim Brown said authorities executed a search warrant early Saturday at Club Guconi, an after-hours club that law enforcement had been investigating for a month.

Brown said the club is not licensed to sell alcohol. Officers also reported finding weapons and marijuana there Saturday.

He said since the club opened in July it’s been the scene of several fights, robberies and other disturbances, including one last weekend that left three Junction City police officers injured.

Brown said two club employees were arrested Saturday on several charges, including conspiracy to maintain a public nuisance and consumption of alcoholic liquor prohibited in certain places.
