Lawrence will play host Thursday to the Free State Social — a discussion of the latest trends and developments in social media.

The event is at Lawrence’s Oread hotel and begins with breakfast and registration between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m.

A group of nationally and internationally known speakers will converge on Lawrence to tell social media aficionados about the best ways to integrate social media with their businesses, how to develop a personal social media brands and other tricks and tips for taking the best advantage of services like Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare.

Tickets were still available as of Wednesday evening and can be purchased at the door while they last. The cost is $295, which includes breakfast and lunch plus a full day of speakers.

All of Lawrence is invited for the Lawrence community tweet-up in downtown Lawrence, which is expected to be a chance to interact with many of the attendees and speakers.
