University Bridge Club announces results of its Sept. 5 meeting, with hosts Steven Bogler, Janet Dunn, Alice Akin and Virginia Williams.

Blue winners were Virginia Williams, first; Roz Zimmerer, second; Al Smith, third; Walt Hicks, fourth; and Cathy Stephens, fifth.

Pink winners were Willie Stoltenberg, first; Donna Gatts, second; Willi Stark, third; Ruth Harwood, fourth; and Carol Smith, fifth.

The Lawrence Rainbow Girls will hold a Fundraiser Taco Feed from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Lawrence Masonic Center, 1601 W. 23rd St., Suite 203. Tickets are $5 for adults; $4 for military or veterans; and $3 for children under 10.

Knights of Columbus Council 1372 donated 676 food items to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence during July and August. The Church donates food collected from the Knights and parishioners to the Trinity Interfaith Food Pantry and ECKAN.

The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game of Sept. 2 was directed by Chris Lane. North-South winners were Mary Fenlon and Lester Dalton, first in A; Chris Lane and Charles Hedges, second in A and first in B; Jan O’Connor and Suzanne Wassmer, third in A, second in B, and first in C; Catherine Blumenfeld and Grant Sutton, fourth in A and third in B; and Jean Otney and Marilyn Martin, second in C.

The East-West winners were Sally Taylor and Yvonne Hedges, first in A and B; David Piro and Paul Heitzman, second in A; Virginia Seaver and Madelyn Jenks, third in A; Bebe Huxtable and Wanna Roszel, fourth in A, second in B, and first in C; and Carol Ball and Nita Scales, third in B and second in C.

The Thursday Morning Duplicate Mentor Bridge Club’s game of Sept. 3 was directed by Chris Lane. The game utilized a Howell movement. Winners were Shirley Brown and Ann Thompson, first; John Stark and Willi Stark, second; Florine Creek and Lester Dalton, third; Chris Lane and Margy Porter, fourth; and Becky Mullins and Jean Khatib, fifth.

The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game of Sept. 4 was directed by Virginia Seaver. North-South winners were Jeane Landry and Ed Howard, first in A; Steven Vossler and Larry Weatherholt, second in A; Chris Lane and Yvonne Hedges, third in A and first in B; Janice Hollowell and Jean Otney, fourth in A, second in B, and first in C; and Mary Fenlon and Lester Dalton, fifth in A.

East-West winners Dick Shaffer and Jack Flickinger tied in first place in A, B and C with Lois Clark and Catherine Blumenfeld; Other winners were Shirley Reese and Betty Collier, third in A and B; David Piro and Paul Heitzman, fourth in A; and Emily Foster and Eldon Herd, fourth in B.

The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game of Sept. 7 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The game utilized the Howell movement. Winners were Hailong Dao and Craig Huneke, first in A, B and C; Eldon Herd and Bobby Patton, second in A and B; Steven Vossler and James Masilamani, third in A; and Harry Shaffer and Ed Howard, fourth in A.
