Overland Park ? De Soto stunned defending Class 4A-1A state soccer champion Kansas City Christian, 2-0, Friday in the regional final to advance to Tuesday’s state quarterfinals.

After a scoreless first half at the Overland Park Soccer Complex, Jordan Riffel put De Soto up, 1-0, with 11 minutes to go. Brett Hevel added an insurance goal with 1:04 to play.

De Soto goalkeeper Tyler Buffkin earned the shutout.
