University Bridge Club announced results of its Oct. 10 meeting, with hosts John and Jane Golden, Isabelle Schaake and Steven Bogler.

Blue winners were Tom Waller, first; Steven Bogler, second; Marc Kuepker, third; George Bocquin, fourth; and Roz Zimmerer, fifth.

Pink winners were Janet Dunn, first; Carolyn Harden, second; JoAnne Kready, third; Willi Stark, fourth; and Cathy Waller, fifth.

Over the Rainbow Doll Club met Oct. 8 at the home of LouAnne Burgress. Members created and dressed their dolls in Halloween costumes. Each of the club dolls received Halloween favors. There was also a costume contest with awards given for Best of Show, Most Whimsical, Most Unique, Most Detailed and Most Elegant. Burgess gave an informative lesson on Pauline dolls. Members discussed plans for their Christmas Tea. The club’s field trip will include a visit to Still Plays with Dolls and the United Federation of Doll Collectors.

The PilotClub of Lawrence Antique Show and Sale will be Oct. 23-24 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper St. Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is $3. Proceeds benefit the club’s local community projects.

The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game Oct. 7 was directed by Chris Lane. North-South winners were Steven Vossler and Larry Weatherholt, first in A; Charles Hedges and Chris Lane, second in A and first in B; Catherine Blumenfeld and Grant Sutton, third in A, second in B, and first in C; and Albert Ballard and Earle Core, fourth in A, third in B and second in C.

East-West winners were Shirley Reese and Virginia Seaver, first in A; Eldon Herd and Mona Bell, second in A and first in B; Shari Krentzel and Mary Mertz, third in A and second in B; and Clarice Broz and Marilyn Martin, fourth in A, third in B, and first in C.

The Thursday Morning Mentor Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Oct. 8 utilized the Howell movement and was directed by Chris Lane. Winners were Barbara McCorkle and Patricia Lechtenberg, first in A and B; John Stark and Willi Stark, second in A and B; Debbie Bettinger and Ann Thompson, third in A; and Chris Lane and Dee Killough tied in fourth with Charles Hedges and Earle Core.

The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game Oct. 9 was directed by Virginia Seaver. East-West winners were Grant Sutton and Harry Shaffer, first in A; Virginia Seaver and James Gunn, second in A; Klee Zaricky and Sally Taylor, third in A and first in B; and Harry Talley and Don Daugherty, second in B and first in C.

East-West winners were Jan O’Connor and Eleanor Patton, first in A, B and C; Jack Flickinger and Dick Shaffer tied in second in A and B with Lester Dalton and Betty Collier; and Yvonne Hedges and John Fittell, fourth in B.

The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Oct. 12 utilized the Howell movement and was directed by Virginia Seaver. Winners were Lynette Forbes and Brad Wertz, first in A, B and C; Steven Vossler and Larry Weatherholt, second in A; Carl Mibeck and Jack Mibeck, third in A, and second in B and C; Virginia Seaver and Paul Heitzman, fourth in A; and John Fittell and Bill Allen, third in B and C.
