Cottonwood Inc. renews accreditations

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities International announced Nov. 6 that Cottonwood Inc. has renewed its accreditation for a period of three years for the following programs:

• Community services: community housing, community integration, community services coordination and supported living.

• Employment services (community employment services): job development, job support and job-site training, and organizational employment services.

The latest accreditation is the eighth consecutive three-year accreditation the international accrediting body has awarded to Cottonwood. The not-for-profit organization, with offices in Lawrence and Oskaloosa, has been providing services to people with disabilities in Douglas and Jefferson counties since 1972.

The commission is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body, founded in 1966, whose mission is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.
