KU to discuss health care reform

Health care reform will be the topic of a panel discussion at 7:30 p.m. today at Kansas University’s School of Medicine.

The panel will include:

• Jeff Bloemker, of Cerner Corp.

• Stephen Segebrecht, of Lawrence Otolaryngology Associates.

• Craig Dietz, of Kansas City Free Health Clinic.

• Allen Greiner, a medical officer for Wyandotte County and KU physician.

The event is free and open to the public and will be in Reike Auditorium. Free parking is available in Parking Lot 50 at the northeast corner of Rainbow Boulevard and 39th Street, near the Kansas Life Sciences Innovations Center and Dykes Library.

The event will begin with a brief historical overview of health care and insurance in the United States.

Each panelist will have an opportunity to share his perspective about health care reform, and then there will be a question-and-answer session.

The event is sponsored by the KU School of Medicine chapter of the American Medical Student Association.
