Lawrence resident wins writing awards
Susan Kraus, Lawrence, attended the Society of American Travel Writers Central States annual conference April 1-5 in Atlanta.
Kraus received writing awards in the following categories: Best Newspaper Article on Foreign Travel, Belgium, first; Best Magazine Article on Past Three Meeting Sites, South Dakota, first; Best Magazine Article on a Foreign Destination, Luxembourg, second, and Britain, third; and the Henry & Vera Bradshaw Memorial Award, the ‘best of show’ top writing award selected from the first place winners of every category.
Kraus writes for Lawrence Magazine, Kansas!, and had features last year in United and Midwest airlines in-flight magazines.
