Local clinician to speak at Bible conference

Paul Hahn, M.S., LMFT, of Hahn Marital Therapy in Lawrence, will give a two-part presentation titled, “Sin That Clings So Closely: The Impact of Pornography on the Church” at the Pepperdine University 66th Annual Bible Lectures from Tuesday to May 8 at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.

Hahn, a licensed marriage and family therapist, practices in the Lawrence area. He has clinical training in treating sexual addictions and helping couples to improve their marriages. Hahn leads a pornography addiction support group for Christian men in the Lawrence area.

    Evangelicals Are Addicted To Porn

    There is something to be said about being able to express and act out on sexual urges in natural manner. If you repress them, think them shameful, pretend you don't have even the most normal of proclivities, something will pop right out of you that you never saw coming and can't keep in control.

    Actually sex should be incorporated within the religion.
    And sex gives you a bliss that literally takes you to the source.

    Being a Christian doesn't mean someone is without sin. I think it is good that these men recognize the harm pornography does, acknowledge their addiction and reach out for help rather than not deal with it.
