Aqmar Rahman will offer painting services to local business and homes, as part of an internship with College Works Painting. Rahman, a graduate of Free State High School, has lived in Lawrence most of his life. He is studying for a political science degree at Kansas University.

Through the program, college students learn business skills through a summer hands-on internship by running a branch of their business. It also gives students an opportunity to make money.

During the spring, Rahman will work weekends and offer free estimates for homeowners. In the summer, the internship becomes full-time and Rahman will hire painters, paint homes, organize payroll, and manage customer relations.

The company is based out of California and has branches all around the country.
