Wichita ? Kansas Congressman Todd Tiahrt criticizes President Obama’s nomination of Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as U.S. secretary of health and human services.

Tiahrt, a conservative Republican who represents the 4th District, is at odds with Sebelius over abortion. He opposes abortion, and she supports abortion rights.

He also opposes her administration’s decision to block two coal-fired power plants in southwest Kansas over their potential carbon dioxide emissions.

In a statement Friday, Tiahrt said Sebelius has liberal views he can’t support.

He said: “President Obama is building a cabinet whose members share his liberal ideological motivations. Governor Sebelius is par for the course.”
