FCE news and 4-H news

Meadowlark 4-H Club celebrated its December meeting with community service. The club participated in 4-H Sunday by attending Plymouth Congregational Church. After a club meal, members and their families volunteered to set up and work the annual Bromelsick Christmas Party. They also met for an informal meeting at Pioneer Ridge, which included caroling and making tray favors for Meals on Wheels and the residents of Pioneer Ridge.

•Kanwaka FCE will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Beverly Bourque, 2425 Brookside Drive, Lawrence.

The lesson, “Life Is Too Short Not To Enjoy The Fancier Things,” will be given by Charlene Winter.

•The 59ers FCE will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Rachel Purvis, 1144 Cynthia St. Co-hostess will be Mary Ann Thomas. Marjorie Walton will discuss “Books You Have Read in 2008 and What You Plan To Read in 2009.”
