Bank officer serves as conference panelist
Barbara J. Braa, CornerBank trust officer, served as a panelist and attended the annual Kansas Trust Conference held Oct. 8-9 in Topeka. Braa was a panelist on the “Operations, Administration and Compliance Open Discussion” panel, which included two other trust officers and a Kansas trust examiner. Braa also is a board member of the trust division of the Kansas Banker’s Association, the organizer for the annual educational event.
The 2009 Kansas Trust Conference featured regional speakers on FDIC insurance regulations, agricultural economy, ethics, prohibited transactions in retirement plans, estate and gift tax developments and legislative changes, and financial exploitation and elder abuse.
Braa has served CornerBank’s Lawrence customers since 2001 and recently moved to the bank’s new office at 1201 Wakarusa Drive.
