Our first story:

The National Weather Service in Topeka has implemented its Flash Flood Watch early. It is in effect from now until Thursday morning.

The weather service advised thunderstorms were expected to move across the area Wednesday, dumping as much as 1 to 2 inches of rain per hour.

Because of all the recent rain, the ground in many areas is unable to accept any additional moisture, possibly leading to flash flooding.

The Lawrence High School C-team baseball games scheduled for Wednesday at Sport 2 Sport have been canceled due to field conditions. No reschedule date has been set at this time for the doubleheader scheduled against Shawnee Mission West.

At this time, C-Team softball and JV baseball will still play as scheduled. Both teams have a 4:15 p.m. start.
