Former ambassador to Iraq sets lecture

? The former U.S. ambassador to Iraq will deliver a lecture to officers studying at the Army’s Command and General Staff College.

Ryan Crocker will deliver his remarks Thursday at Fort Leavenworth to U.S. and international officers studying advanced military ideas. Crocker retired from service earlier this year.

The U.S. ambassador in Iraq is a critical part of the campaign to increase Iraqi stability. The country has national elections scheduled for December and U.S. troops will begin leaving in large numbers soon after.

Crocker was ambassador to Pakistan before going to Baghdad in March 2007. He also had served in Syria, Kuwait and Lebanon.
