Henry scores 22 in junior loss

Xavier Henry scored 22 points off 7-of-12 shooting in the U.S. Junior National Select Team’s 98-89 loss to the World Team at Saturday night’s Nike Hoops Summit, played before 11,246 fans in Portland’s Rose Garden.

Henry, a 6-foot-6 guard from Putnam City High in Oklahoma City, hit six of 11 threes. He had four rebounds and an assist.

“It was a tough game, back and forth all game. The other team, they just played tougher than us the whole game,” Henry said.

John Wall, a 6-4 point guard from Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C., had 13 points off 6-of-12 shooting as well as 11 assists and five steals. Wall is considering KU, North Carolina State, Duke, Memphis, Baylor and Miami.
