Runza raises $30,000 for children’s books
Runza restaurants, including the Lawrence location at 2700 Iowa, collectively donated more than $30,000 to purchase children’s books for libraries, schools and school foundations.
Fifteen percent of sales from the Lawrence store were donated to the Lawrence Public Library.
The fundraiser, Great Books for Great Kids, promotes the importance of reading and literacy and has donated more than $150,000.
The Runza restaurant chain was recognized by the National Restaurant Association with the Restaurant Good Neighbor Award in the large business category in 2005.
