The Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community is looking for volunteers to help decorate its tree for Christmas. A volunteer to dress up as Santa is also needed. Pioneer Ridge will provide the suit.

The nursing home also needs bingo callers from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, and Friday, Dec. 26, and Uno and Pictionary players from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, and Wednesday, Dec. 24. Contact cgustafson@pioneer-ridge.com to pre-schedule.

Immediate needs

¢ Kennedy School seeks volunteers to adopt its courtyard garden. Volunteers would weed, trim, water and maintain plants in the school’s garden.

The work would be done between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and would typically involve two to three hours a month from spring through fall or at the volunteer’s availability. Some tools and equipment would be provided.

¢ Kids Voting is still looking for about 150 more volunteers to help on Election Day. Kids Voting offers students K-12 an authentic voting experience at the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Individual volunteers, as well as civic or business groups, are needed to help at Kids Voting tables before and after school at polling sites throughout Douglas County. Shifts last approximately two hours and may be scheduled at a voting location convenient to the volunteer.

¢ Clinton Lake U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is looking for volunteers interested in one-time or ongoing tasks such as litter pickup, various painting jobs, weeding/ mulching of decorative plantings, trail maintenance and other tasks, as needed.
