The Lawrence Humane Society on Saturday will be host to its first Hogs for Dogs Poker Run.

Participants can ride motorcycles or drive their cars on a 50-mile ride through Douglas County.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds near 21st and Harper streets. The ride begins at 10 a.m.

The route includes stops at Wells Overlook, Clinton Lake Marina and Riverfront Harley-Davidson, 608 N. Second St.

After returning to the fairgrounds, a lunch will be provided as well as prizes for the best and worst poker hand. There will also be a silent auction for four items: a metal sculpture of a dog on a motorcycle from “It’s About Time,” Kansas University basketball tickets, VOX racing helmet and a Sturgis Rally package.

The fee is $25. T-shirts will be sold for $10.

Preregistration is available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Lawrence Humane Society, 1805 E. 19th St.
