From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 25, 1908: From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 30, 1908: “Sen. Charles Curtis came down from Topeka last night and spent several hours at the Eldridge House discussing with local people the possible discontinuation of Haskell Institute as an Indian school. Sen. Curtis is strongly in favor of keeping Haskell as an Indian education source … Every fraternity represented at the university here will take part in banquets in Kansas City this evening with counterparts from Missouri. Nearly 1,000 are due to take part in these events with many attending the Kansas-Missouri football game the next day, Thanksgiving.
