Sooners survive career night from DC’s Curry

No. 12 Oklahoma 82, No. 21 Davidson 78

Norman, Okla. — Blake Griffin scored 25 points and pulled down a career-high 21 rebounds, freshman Willie Warren added 20 points, and Oklahoma overcame the highest scoring game of Stephen Curry’s career to beat Davidson on Tuesday night.

Curry, who scored 44 points on 12-for-29 shooting, tried to will his team back from a 21-point deficit in the second half and got the Wildcats within three points with a three-pointer in the final minute.

No. 7 Texas 76, Tulane 51

Austin, Texas — Damion James scored 16 points, and Texas cruised past Tulane.

Baylor 90, Centenary 55

Waco, Texas — LaceDarius Dunn scored eight consecutive points to start an early 16-0 run that put Baylor firmly in control on the way to a victory over Centenary.

Dunn’s fast-break jumper broke a 5-5 tie, and he followed with three-pointers on Baylor’s next two possessions, after turnovers by Centenary (0-2). The Bears leapt to a 21-5 lead.

Texas A&M 55, Stephen F. Austin 48

College Station, Texas — Texas A&M’s Bryan Davis scored 16 points and had a key block as Texas A&M avoided an upset with a victory over Stephen F. Austin.

The Aggies led, 44-42, with 4:41 remaining when Stephen F. Austin’s Matt Kingsley appeared to have an easy basket inside, but Davis blocked the shot.

Montana State 85, Colorado 82 (OT)

Boulder, Colo. — Bobby Howard scored 24 points, Will Bynum hit a jumper and free throw late in overtime, and Montana State held off Colorado.
