Repaving project expected to get OK

Bottom line

City commissioners will accept a bid to repave a major portion of Iowa Street this summer.

Background

The project will repave the portion of Iowa Street from 23rd Street to 31st Street. The project has a price tag of $422,854, and the work will be done by Asphalt Improvement Co. The state will pay $200,000 of the project cost. Work likely will begin in late summer.

f.) Award City Bid No. B08039, Project No. 01-SR1-108(S), Iowa Street (US-59/K-10), from 646.28 feet north of 31st Street to Clinton Parkway/23rd Street, milling, overlay, pavement marking and minor geometric improvements to Asphalt Improvement Co., in the amount of $422,854.45.

g.) Authorize the city manager to enter into an agreement for the purchase of certain property interests for $60,000 for the West Baldwin Creek Sanitary Sewer Project.

¢ Adopt on first reading, Ordinance No. 8270, rezoning approximately 140 acres for Bauer Brook Estates (Z-03-08-08) from A-1 to RS-40. The property is at the southeast corner of the intersection of Folks Road and Peterson Road.

¢ Approve a request to rezone (Z-02-06-08) a tract of land approximately 0.39 acres, from RM12 D (Multi-Dwelling Residential) to RS7 (Single-Dwelling Residential). The property is at 1309-11 W. Eighth St., and a portion of 820-22 Canterbury Lane.

¢ Receive 2008 first quarter report from Downtown Lawrence Inc.

¢ Receive 2008 first quarter report from Lawrence Freenet.

¢ Authorize the mayor to sign a release of mortgage for Joseph and Lori Edgerton, 141 Mich.
