KU announces schedule of commencement activities

Four days of festivities capped off by the annual walk down the hill will mark the 136th commencement at Kansas University.

It begins Friday with a dinner honoring medical school graduates and ends Monday with a joint commissioning service for ROTC cadets. More than 7,000 students are eligible to take part in the commencement activities.

Graduation is set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday with remarks and conferring of degrees. Graduates are expected to line up along Memorial Drive at 2 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, an announcement will be made online at www.ljworld.com and by 6News at Sunflower Broadband Channel 6. Commencement then would be pushed back to 4:30 p.m., and then 6:30 p.m. Another try would be at 9 a.m. Monday.
