Fishing spot closed at Clinton Lake
A popular fishing area at Clinton Lake will be closed until at least Tuesday afternoon.
Leaders with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have closed public access to the Wakarusa River just below the Clinton Lake Dam. The outlet tube that the Corps uses to release water from the lake is going through its periodic inspection by Corps engineers.
The inspection will involve draining the tube and part of the river immediately downstream from the tube. Corps leaders closed the area on Wednesday.
Other parts of the Outlet Park below the dam – including Eagle Bend Golf Course and picnic areas – remain open.
