Mary L. Berg, practice manager for Gentle Care Animal Hospital, Lawrence, was among 38 veterinarians and hospital managers who recently completed the Veterinary Management Institute, an intensive management program offered through Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management Executive Education Program and the American Animal Hospital Association.

Berg has attended four modules, each three days long, regarding human resource management, marketing management, financial management and strategic thinking.

She earned a certificate of veterinary practice administration in addition to 72 hours of graduate-level management education. Berg is a member of the 17th graduating class. Nearly 1,200 veterinarians and practice managers have attended the program since it began in 1990.
